The Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam is one of the most important partners of the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters. The players, coaches, friends and family and the officials will stay here. Amsterdam 'Centraal Station' is on the other side of the road and is located in the centre of the city. All rooms in this 4 star hotel have air-conditioning, telephone and internet access and a television with a movie channel. Furthermore the hotel has a swimming pool, a sauna, a Turkish bath, a gym, s solarium and a beauty salon.
The players hotel is located at the beginning of the Damrak, only five minutes from the Dam. The Damrak has a lot of restaurants, bars and gift shops. In the middle of the Dam is the National Monument, dedicated to the soldiers and resistance fighters who died during World War two. Opposite is Royal Palace, which was build as a city hall in the 17th century. Shortly after that King Louis Napoleon claimed it as his palace. Nowadays the palace is occasionally being used as a location for state visits and as a tourist attraction.
From the Park Plaza Victoria it is easy to travel by tram. Most tram lines begin on the plaza in front of the station. Since a few years, the trams in Amsterdam are easy accessible for wheelchairs. Pay attention, not all stops are at the same height of the tram, but most players have the strength to cope with the 20 cm difference.
The Park Plaza Victoria is not only the accommodation of the players and officials. The draw and the press meetings on Tuesday afternoon 11 November will take place here as well.
